Four years on from the release of the last episode, FR07 breaks from the single DJ mix mould and gives each DJ their own mix to play with for 2 DJ Mixes of the biggest hard dance anthems past, present and future, timed to coincide with Frantic’s 13^th Birthday. The explosion of Hard House in the late 1990’s created one of the most exciting and successful dance music explosions both in terms of the music released and the parties and events it spawned. PROTEUS

Finnish sensation Proteus opens up proceedings with his own brand of industrial, metal influenced hardstyle fusing classic anthems with hot upfront exclusives and leads the growing ranks of hardstyle DJs currently headlining at Frantic’s events due to the massive growth in the scene internationally especially in the UK and USA.

CALLY GAGE

Cally Gage drops a bomb on CD2 and shows why she is the hottest female talent in the scene today, showcasing the other side to Frantic’s events, a combination of high energy hard house, NRG and hard trance.

Cally started off her career in fine style winning the Tidy Summer Camp DJ Competition in July 2004 and since then has achieved more than most DJs achieve in a decade, successfully carving out a well deserved reputation as one who consistently delivers floor-filling, jaw dropping, crowd delighting sets; these are Cally’s trademarks.

Cally’s relentless passion is further rewarded as she becomes this year’s Storm resident alongside her position as a key Frantic Resident and coincides with her move to CODA Agency, (the same agency team responsible for Calvin Harris, Annie Mac, and Fergie). This huge milestone underlines Cally Gage as a true global artiste at the top of her game.

NUKLEUZ DJS

Over various projects the Nukleuz DJs have included legends such as BK, Ed Real, Vinylgroover, Andy Farley, Nick Sentience, Mark Richardson, Darren Styles, Mark Breeze, Organ Donors, Phil Reynolds, Disco Brothers, Nick Lunn, and The Edison Factor. Now fronted by Nukleuz’s own Head of A&R Dave Louca and in-house studio whizz kid JAKAZiD Nukleuz DJs have taken up the reins of this respected association of harder dance talent. Having sold over 20,000 copies and been the first 12” only release to hit the Top 40 for over a decade as well as being crowned single of the month in Mixmag, Muzik and IDJ the first DJ Nation EP series set in stone that hard dance was a strong and vibrant scene and flew in the face of falling vinyl sales. This was followed up in 2003 with DJ Nation: Bootleg Edition which went on to achieve the same monstrous level of success!

With it’s new pilots at the helm Nukleuz DJs were determined to showcase the breadth of outstanding harder edged dance music that was coming through the label. Media Records was one of the scene leaders and one of the most successful Euro Dance labels at the time that still has many fans all over the world. During the 1990’s Media found huge success across the UK and Europe with the 49ers, Capella, Anticapella, Clock, Sharada House Gang, East Side Beat, R.A.F. and many more. The singles sold in their millions and the aritsts were released on Island, London Records, RCA to name a few. Some of these releases feature prominently on these high selling albums currently topping the UK Compilation Charts.

However, many of Media Record’s biggest club classics and crossover hits are frequently overlooked for such albums and so we have compiled our own project of full force 90s anthems for this 2 DJ Mix, 24 track snapshot of that incredible era. If one name is synonymous with hard dance then it has to be BK (aka Ben Keen). “BK: A Hard Dance Revolution” celebrates the wealth of anthems and classics produced by BK for Nukleuz across 2 DJ Mixes (mixed by Nukleuz DJs) showcasing 24 of his biggest and most popular singles in full DJ friendly studio master quality, some of which have been out of stock for years on vinyl!

BK has defined Hard Dance with anthems like “Music Is Moving” and continues to reinvent and breathe new life into the genre with his sound that he describes as “ever-changing and full of energy, with innovative infusions of trance and techno that redefine the hard house style.”. However, BK is best known for “Revolution”, which entered BBC Radio One’s daytime playlist rotation in 2002 – a singular accomplishment for a hard house track – and became one of the last ever vinyl only Top 40 hits. Incidentally his collaboration with Dave Randall “Ascention” featured on the DJ Nation EP series which also became a vinyl only Top 40 hit!

The Frantic Hard Dance brand and the Nukleuz label were pretty much joined at the hip at birth. The explosion of Hard House in the late 1990’s created one of the most exciting and successful dance music explosions both in terms of the music released and the parties and events it spawned. One of these was the Frantic Residents CD mix albums. These were an antidote to the big budget TV advertised compilations and were a combination of the DJ’s skills on the decks and the catalogue of great tracks Nukleuz were releasing at the time.
As time went on the content included non-Nukleuz material but the essence has remained the same.

This was the sound of Frantic & Nukleuz, its core DJs and the broader sound of the London Hard Dance scene. Most of these CDs were made as limited edition runs and now pop up on eBay for up to £50 a time. With this in mind we have decided to release them digitally for the first time and, as you can with digital releases, have included the live original DJ mix and all of the original full length versions in the package. As always this represents a massive saving on original price of these titles but also gives you full confidence that you are getting 100% the original full master quality tracks and mixes from their source. This is the ultimate package of DJ mix and 12″ original classics from complete legends of dance music. Frantic Residents mix albums lovingly recreated in the digital format for all fans of Hard Dance.

Pierre Pienaar was first brought to the attention of Nukleuz HQ in 2005 by Alf Bamford courtesy of their collaboration Technikal presents Pierre Pienaar “Global Panic” on Tidy Trax and Pierre’s outstanding remix of Ratty “Sunrise” on Chemical Records. It was immediately clear that Pierre had some serious skills. In early 2006 we had signed his P.H.A.T.T. “Worlds Apart” single featuring vocalist Kate Smith and commissioned him to remix two records, JoBabe – Follow Me Away (Pierre Pienaar Remix) and Audioscape – Walk Away (P.H.A.T.T. Remix).

Then following two further massive singles Nukleuz made Pierre Pienaar the Head of their respected Green label the spiritual home to some of the biggest trance artists including Mauro Picotto, Mario Piu, CRW and Joy Kitikonti. Pierre even remixed some of their biggest hits including “Komodo“, “The Vision” and “I Feel Love“. Signing and creating floor rocking originals Pierre has made Nukleuz Green his own gaining the support of some of the biggest DJs in the world including Paul Van Dyk, Dave Pearce, Judge Jules, Blank & Jones, Carl Cox, Ernesto vs Bastien, Marcus Schossow, Lange, Lisa Lashes, Adam White, Sean Tyas and many more.

Hailing from Namibia dance prodigy Pierre Pienaar has made a big impression on the UK & Worldwide club scenes as one of a handful of defining dance producers with an immense natural talent for crafting catchy, uplifting and euphoric trance sounds across all styles and for any occasion.

This album is a showcase of 24 of his finest works to date for Nukleuz across 2 DJ mixes (and all individual downloads) covering the full trance spectrum with his 3 main production alter egos P.H.A.T.T., Melodia and of course Pierre Pienaar.

This year also sees the release of Frantic Residents 07: Mixed by Proteus & Cally Gage. Breaking from the single DJ mix mould FR07 have given each DJ their own mix to play with for 2 DJ Mixes of the biggest hard dance anthems through the ages. Timed to coincide with Frantic’s 13th Birthday celebrations the compilation will feature all of the hottest anthems from the last 13 years of Frantic as well as some killer new exclusives.
