Digital record store DJ download has been placed into administration, only to be saved by Juno Download in a bid to keep the shop alive.
Here at Nukleuz we were notified of DJ Download’s placement into administration on the 5th of November, Juno Download swooped to the rescue of the digital store, taking over it’s opperations. DJ download will therefore still continue to run, but under the control of Juno, who have bought the download store and it’s assets from the administrator.
Juno said: “We believe that with the combined strength of the Juno and DJdownload brands, we can make the electronic music download market more competitive [and] improve customer choice”
DJ Download founder Justin Pearce who has been Head Of Music at the store will continue in the same position as before, after having to break the hard news saying on the day: “It is with great regret that we have to inform you that DJdownload Limited has been placed into administration.”
“The directors have worked extremely hard over the past few months to try and save the company: overheads were reduced and attempts to increase revenues were made but ongoing efforts to raise further finance were unsuccessful.
“Despite their best efforts the company was not able to continue to trade. We would like to thank you for your support and business over the years and we wish you all the best in the future.”
DJ Download will continue to run from www.djdownload.com
