Hard House Academy 9 hit the 02 Academy Brixton with 50 of the best DJs on the scene, bringing a harder side of life to London over the weekend.
Nukleuz were there as Frantic brought their colossal hard dance event to the 4,500 capacity venue.
Along with the show came Frantic’s creepy clowns and utterly insane costumed dancers – check out the photos for yourself –
From the ‘Black Gold’ room (spinning vinyl-only) to the Filth Foyer people are rammed in, watching DJs like JP and Jukesy, Matt Pic Up and Andy Rise rip up the dancefloor with fast and furious beats. Later on Andy Whitby packed the room, laying down classic after classic – look out for his latest mix on our HARD DANCE MASH UP album.
The main arena played host to the likes of Cally & Juice, Activator and a whole host of hardstyle resulting in a heaving room in which everyone was going completely bonkers.
But, as always, Hard House Academy brought a good old debate along with it, quite neatly summed up by LadyAsbo from Spoonfed:
“The main debate is whether hardstyle is too dominant a main room feature. Hardstyle is like the proverbial Marmite to many hard dance fans – that is, as alluring as the prospect of sex with a dead fish. However, it would be unfair to say that other genres are neglected – the flawless Filth Foyer collaboration with Hi Oktane being one example. ”
